Meet Our Founder: Dr. Ward Wagner

Dr. Ward W. Wagner is a board-certified chiropractic physician and Independent Medical Examiner with expertise in impairment ratings as a Certified Impairment Rating Specialist. Dr. Wagner operates a private practice as a chiropractic physician in both St. George, Utah, since 1996, and Las Vegas, Nevada, since 2002.

In his private practice, Dr. Wagner offers a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, incorporating chiropractic techniques, physical therapy modalities, and various treatment methods. Some of the physical therapy modalities used in his practice include spinal and extremity chiropractic manipulative therapy (CMT), electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), mechanical traction, decompression therapy, Class IV laser therapy, ultrasound, myofascial release, PNF stretching, Shockwave therapy, mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) rehabilitation, homeopathic and ozone injections, and Scrambler therapy.

Since 1998, Dr. Wagner has worked as an independent medical examiner and peer reviewer, providing services to various insurance companies, attorneys, and independent contracting companies. In this role, he reviews accident documents, medical records, and patient histories to render opinions on the necessity and reasonableness of care. When requested, Dr. Wagner conducts patient examinations and offers recommendations for the resolution of care or further treatment. He has performed over 500 IMEs and peer reviews to date, and his expertise has been utilized in litigation cases where he provides testimony and defends his conclusions in court.

Additionally, Dr. Wagner has been a Permanent Partial Disability Evaluator since July 2006. As a contractor for the State of Nevada's Department of Business Industry, Division of Industrial Relations, Workers' Compensation Section, he reviews medical records, examines patients, and assigns impairment ratings to injured employees using The AMA Guides to Permanent Impairment, 5th Edition. Dr. Wagner has conducted over 1500 impairment ratings as of the present.

From January 2003 to May 2004, Dr. Wagner worked as a Gross Anatomy Laboratory Instructor at the Community College of Southern Nevada, in the Biological Science Department.

Dr. Wagner earned his medical degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in June 1996, located in Davenport, Iowa.

He has also completed several post-graduate training programs, including Traffic Crash Reconstruction 1 and 2 from Northwestern University Center for Public Safety in Evanston, Illinois, in October and November 2016, respectively. He has also received training in Whiplash Injury Biomechanics & Traumatology from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego in 2016. Furthermore, Dr. Wagner holds certifications as a Certified Impairment Rating Specialist (CIRS) from the American Academy of Expert Medical Evaluators (AAEME) and as a Certified Independent Chiropractic Examiner (CICE) from the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME), both earned in 2006.

During his internship from June 1995 to June 1996, Dr. Wagner worked in the Sports Injury and Rehabilitation Department at Palmer College of Chiropractic, under the supervision of Dr. Clay McDonald and Dr. Dave Juehring.

Dr. Ward W. Wagner has received recognition for his achievements, including the Eagle Scout award from the Boy Scouts of America in 1980 and the Clinical Excellence Award from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
